Our “shadow side” are resisted aspects of ourselves. These are aspects that do not fit into the image we carry of ourselves, they can be both positive or negative. We tend to project our shadow side onto other people or circumstances. This exercise will help you call the disowned parts of you home.
Just Like Me Practice:
Whenever you become aware that you are judging something in another, good or bad, attach these words to the end of your thought. “Just like me.” Here are some examples:
She is so tense… just like me.
He is so wise… just like me.
You have the most beautiful body… just like me.
You are so controlling… just like me.
