Practice from Home

I am here.
I am calling you.
I know you hear me,

and yet when you look for me,
you seem to turn away from me,

forgetting I am the inside of the inside of all beings,
of all things, of all action, of all words.

I am so close; even closer than close.
I am the cosmic power that births you,
feeds you, holds you, breathes you.
I am your deepest nature,
luminous wisdom weaving all things.

I have planted seeds
of peace and beauty
inside your heart,
can you feel it, that it is time now,
for them to sprout?
To blossom,
to become food for this aching world?

Yes beloved,
come closer,
Lean all the way into me,
I am here
holding you.
Let me show you the way.

If you feel a longing to carve out space in your life for communion with the luminous Source within you…

If you feel thirsty for spiritual nourishment…

If you long to be supported, held, to rest into a love that never lets you down…

If you struggle with boundaries, and wonder how you can live with an open heart without being drained or overwhelmed…

If you sense something birthing in you, something subtle, a whisper, a hum…

If you feel tired and out of balance in the dance of giving and receiving…

If your heart is aching with love for this world, and you yearn to be a source of healing and refuge…

If you are looking for a way to embrace all your parts, the glitter and rags, into the luminous heart of the divine Mother…

Then this immersion may be just the right place for you…

For 21 days you will in your own unique way, open to the magnificent beauty and power of Divine Mother Shakti.

There are no unrealistic standards of perfection here, you do as much or as little that works for you. Goddess sadhana is a spiritual path that not only embraces your life but is your life—not the elusive perfect version of it, but just as it is.

With the support of potent daily guidance, short and to the point, you will learn how to recognize and transform the habits of division and projection that creates unnecessary suffering in your life –
planting your roots in the unfathomable strength of the undivided heart.

How can we expect world peace, if we are not at peace with ourselves?

When we look at the extreme war and violence in the world today, it may seem as if war is something happening “out there”, something we cannot understand. It feels foreign, removed from ourselves, and thus outside of our power to change.

When we bring into consciousness the many ways we live in warfare within our own thoughts and bodies, within our surroundings and our relationships, we can offer it all into the alchemy of the Divine Mother Shakti. When we look deeper than the appearance of violence “out there”, deeper than the dual view of “us against them”, we find the power to end war and restore peace, starting with ourselves.

Divine Mother Shakti is a treasure found in our very own being. On this sacred journey we will explore many names and forms of the Divine Mother like Gaia, Maha Devi, Kwan Yin, Tara, Mother Mary, Prajnaparamita and Isis, following the maps and signposts found in ancient Goddess mythology from all over the world.

Along with our inner yoga of restoring peace in our own personal lives, we will also commit to daily prayer for the world. Weaving together the prayers of hundreds of women in different geographical locations and time zones, we will for 21 days establish a garland of continuous prayers wrapping around the earth.

We are all creating and being created by each other. The ripples of spiritual practice and prayer touch and influence EVERYTHING and EVERYONE: human hearts and ocean creatures; the stars and the trees; generations behind us and generations to come.

Divine Mother, give me roots
within your luminous heart;
let my mind and imagination soar in the vastness that you are;
let my words and actions emanate your Peace.
Mother, wrap your arms of compassion around me
and pull me all the way
into you.

“Chameli Ardagh is masterful at illuminating the ancient Goddess teachings.”

Many of us are inspired by spiritual teachings but to actually embody them, in a daily practice of breathing them in and sweating them out, is a radically different proposition. Chameli Ardagh is masterful at illuminating the ancient Goddess teachings in a way that is supremely tangible for modern women, without sacrificing their depth, creating a kind of frequency that sparks awakening.

“I was able to feel the presence of Goddess like never before”

I was able to feel the presence of Goddess like never before. The message of softening was there again; softening of the senses and the mental grip. Thank you Dear Chameli Ardagh and sisters at Awakening Women Institute for taking the leadership to hold this Sacred Space. May all that’s done be a blessing to all. Namaste.

“I have a deeper sense of belonging, stewardship, and devotion to the shimmering, sacred web of life”

I find no language for so much of what has transpired within me during sadhana. It will take time to integrate… I have a deeper sense of belonging, stewardship, and devotion to the shimmering, sacred web of life. I have a more keen understanding of discerning what is relevant and what is not. My heart has cracked wide open. For me, it feels as though sadhana has just begun… Forehead to the floor. I bow.

What is Shakti Sadhana?

Sadhana means spiritual practice.
Shakti is a Sanskrit name for the feminine creative life force of the universe.

Shakti Sadhana is embodied spiritual practice, where the Goddess is the portal to awakening. In this practice, you consciously engage with both your inner and outer life, your darkness and your light, essentially seeing all of it as part of the unfathomable wholeness you are made of.

Shakti Sadhana is not a seclusive spiritual practice; it is a path that permeates every aspect of our lives.

The Yogini circle is a timeless field of wisdom. Our online 21 day Sadhana immersions are gatherings of several hundred women from all over the planet, when we come together with a shared intention of awakening, the power of the circle is activated, providing each of us with a powerful transmission of guidance and empowerment.

What will I learn in a 21 Day Sadhana?

The basis for all spiritual exploration in the Women’s Wisdom tradition is the insight that that which we are longing for is who we already are. Thus our practice in sadhana is not toward a goal of attainment in the future; it is a process of melting, of unraveling the wisdom and beauty already inherent within each woman.

In ancient Goddess mythology, we find maps supporting us in this awakening process, and you will be initiated into practices from this alive lineage of women’s embodied spirituality that Chameli and the Awakening Women community are dedicated to.

How does it work?

The sadhana begins Wednesday, May 5. That day you will receive your first email, and you will also be invited into a private online group. Once a day (except for the day of the Zoom retreats), you will receive a short email with a new practice or a poem that will inspire you and keep you on track.

On Saturday, May 8, we will meet for the first of three live retreats with Chameli, on Zoom. These retreats will take place on Saturdays (May 8, 15 & 22) at 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m. Eastern, 19.00 Northern Europe. The calls will last 90 minutes.

The retreats will be recorded so you can listen to them at any time. In between the live retreats, you will practice on your own. You can check in with your practice community as often as you like in the private online group.

Will I have the time to do sadhana in the midst of a busy life?

You participate as much as is possible for you. To do some practice is better than no practice, and many of the practices are done in the midst of your life, as it is for you.

Once you enter the sadhana, you enter a mandala of Shakti, of transformation. The practices and teachings will, independent of how much you “do”, unfold in unexpected ways.

Who is it for?

If you long to root yourself in a deeper truth, to live awakening in your daily life, to embody Shakti—the divine creative power—more fully, then this sadhana is for you. We do go deep, we do embrace both shadow and light as aspects of Goddess. We meet in a shared dedication to living awake.

If you feel called, a pull, a sense of YES inside…then claim your seat in the circle.

All levels of experience are welcome. Our focus in embodied spirituality is on direct experience.

YOUR experience is the authority. Always.

Do you offer scholarships?

Yes, we do offer partial scholarships. For more information and to apply, please send an email to yoginiteam@awakeningwomen.com.

“I experience a profound level of trust and commitment amongst my sisters that is unlike any other circle.”

With each sadhana, I experience a profound level of trust and commitment amongst my sisters that is unlike any other circle. I’m carried into an ancient yet familiar heart wisdom that cracks open a river of love within me and flowers the depth of my creative force in the world.

“There have been both subtle changes and massive changes in my life since I started the Sadhana!”

There have been both subtle changes and massive changes in my life since I started the Sadhana! I have now been able to adapt a daily practice and remind myself of so many gifts that she bestows upon me and my life on a daily basis. I would eagerly await your daily email in my inbox because of how it made me feel to be connected to her grace through you and this group of incredible women. I am eternally grateful for opening this door for me because I know that she has always been in my life but I didn’t know how to connect to her in a deeper, more meaningful way. Now I do!

“I am on my knees at the power of this circle”

It’s been a big Sadhana for me…a return home into myself, moving through lots of my own shadows. Sisters, I am on my knees at the power of this circle. I feel it. I breathe it. More and more in my life I realize the power of practice—that I really do not need to figure anything out. I am beyond words with gratitude! I bow to all of you. I send you my deepest love from my heart and the fruits of this work
