What is Shakti Sadhana?
Sadhana means spiritual practice.
Shakti is Sanskrit for for the feminine power & creative life force of the universe.
Shakti Sadhana is embodied spiritual practice, where the Goddess is the portal to awakening.
A Yogini is a woman devoted to truth and awakening. Although many of the practices in our sadhana immersions include movements, our focus here is not on yoga asanas. We use the word Yoga/Yogini to describe a way of life, rooted in spirit.
The Yogini circle is a global practice community of conscious women coming together with a shared intention of spiritual practice and embodied awakening. Together we co-create a resonant field which provides each of us with a powerful transmission of Shakti. As a practitioner in the Women’s Ashram, you will get access to our vibrantly alive online Yogini circle (on Facebook).
In addition to our two annual 21 Day Online Sadhana Immersions where our global community practice together, we also offer self study sadhanas that you can do on your own at anytime.
“There are a thousand ways to kneel and kiss the ground.”
What will I learn in a 21 Day Sadhana?
In each 21 Sadhana Immersion you will enter a deep exploration of a Goddess and through her mythology and practices you will awaken and integrate in you the powers and gifts she embodies.
This is not a seclusive spiritual practice; it is a path that permeates every aspect of our lives. In the Shakti view, we don’t relate to spirit as separate from matter, we practice with body and feelings, with both our brilliance and our darkness as different expressions of the same One totality.
The basis for all spiritual exploration in the Shakti tradition is the insight that that which we are longing for is who we already are. Thus our practice in Sadhana is not toward a goal of attainment in the future; it is a process of melting, of unraveling the wisdom and beauty already inherent within each woman.
In ancient goddess mythology, we find maps supporting us in this awakening process, and you will be initiated into practices from this alive lineage of women’s embodied spirituality that the Awakening Women community have explored intensively together for more than 15 years.

About Awakening Women
A Yogini is a spiritual rebellion
engaged in a glowing and embodied,
nothing-held-back love affair with the great mystery.
Passionate about truth, rest & real love,
unshakably rooted in the Great Mother,
she dreams a new world into being.
She is fluent in angelic, diva and in Kali roars.
Earth is home and so is infinity.
